In 1998 an educational project called "Children of the Great Ocean" was conducted by the College of Magenta, Noumea. A class of children went to discover the humpback whales. They identified a new humpback that was named EGO (Children of the Great Ocean). This animal was sighted in Tonga in 2000 !
